Location and team
KEMA T&D Testing Services (TDT) is internationally recognized as the energy world’s leading provider in this field. TDT is involved primarily in the inspection and testing of medium and high-voltage energy supply components. The eight-strong Inspections Team serves national and international electricity companies, manufacturers and heavy industry. Our inspectors work around the world, undertaking a wide variety of primarily component-oriented activities within the quality surveillance cycle. The emphasis is on witnessing tests for quality assurance purposes. This challenging and responsible position involves regular international travel for periods of several days or weeks. Extended overseas postings may be arranged where mutually agreeable.
Tasks
Your main duties will be witnessing and/or assessing type tests at third-party sites and carrying out acceptance inspections, failure investigations, process-oriented checks and occasional partial quality system audits. All such activities conclude with the preparation of written reports. As an Inspector, you will pass judgment on the relevant activities on KEMA’s behalf. Inspections usually take place at third-party production and test sites around the world. After a familiarization period, you will carry out inspections independently. The role also involves office-based work.
What we're asking
A higher vocational qualification in energy technology, at least five years’ work experience. Specialist knowledge and experience – particularly relating to different types of switchgear and MV/HV cables and accessories and/or power transformers – is an advantage. Affinity with quality assurance in general. Excellent communicative skills and a good command of written and spoken English, German and preferably French. A strong but adaptable character with a persuasive manner. Accuracy and personal integrity are prerequisites for the role.
