On-site Test Facilities
Proper operation of a newly installed or refurbished component needs to be verified before that component or substation can be safely put into operation.
Even the smallest failure may result in a full-scale short circuit – with serious consequences. Such failures can easily be detected when using on-site commission tests. A variety of specialized test equipment is available to check the soundness of transformers, generators, high voltage cable systems and even complete substations. These test facilities are installed on trailers that can be easily transported to any site in the world.
Special test facilities are available for commissioning tests of power cables. We offer tests on cables up to 400 kV and up to a length of 10 km or more.
Special test techniques, utilizing a 0.1 Hz power source, are available to identify these weak spots. Once identified, it is then crucial to determine how to proceed.
We can perform tests on the stator such as measurement of the capacitance and dielectric losses (tan delta) and partial discharges.
